Topic: Airport-Art Rug collector steve price

As usual professor clown, aka steev price, has published a rug from his collection, a "Chodor" chuval, and tried to assert it is something worth discussion and notice.

However, price's piece is nothing but an airport-art rendition of earlier, truly indigenous, weaving.

There is little doubt price is a rug-moron, someone who can not discern the obvious difference between airport-art and a genuine example.

The other examples price published for comparison are equally as unimportant, tainted by the disintegration all Turkmen groups experienced beginning for some as early as the mid-18th century.

So even though price's chuval, and the others, are probably made prior to the mid-19th century they are in fact nothing but late, ungainly representations of earlier work.

Should anyone doubt what we claim we have demonstrated, unequivocally, the difference between genuine Turkmen weaving and the types of airport-art price illustrates a number of times on RugKazbah.com.

By the way: price's premise -- is it a trapping or a chuval -- is stupid, nothing but another attempt to foment 'discussion' with the participants in his dreary online circle.

RK sent the above post to price's turk0tek.com website and even though all posts are vetted, and naturally any from RK are not allowed on the website, several have gotten through.

Such was the case this morning as the jpeg below demonstrates:

This is not the first time RK has levied charges that price is nothing but a turko-idiot whose ideas about Turkmen rugs, or any other type for that matter, are cock-eyed and totally worthless.

So not only does price have, after several decades of trying to be a rug collector, a pile of airport-art weavings but, even more damaging, are the absurd and laughable ideas he harbors and has the nerve to publish.

What RK wrote, and price immediately removed, is factual -- proof is now there for all to see.

We have successfully posted to turk0tek.com in the past but were not interested enough to capture a screen image to prove it as we did this time.

Now the proof of price's inability to run an open, democratic forum is here for all to see -- well it was obvious before but anyone who doubted this can now retire their disbelief professor clown is anything but the paranoid, tin-horn marshall Dillon RK has accused him of being for many years now.

So, our position price is a jealous, dumb pedant who refuses to allow comments and critique unflattering to the laughably absurd idea he can be a commentator or moderate any type of discussion about rugs should now be apparent to all, even price himself.

Whenever RK publishes our unabashed opinion of turko-idiot professor steve price we realize all we are doing is lowering ourself to his level and publicizing him and his piss-puddle of a website for wanna be rug expurts.

RK was raised to respect truth and honesty, to honor hard work and diligence, as well as to admire intelligence and to strive for higher values in life. This is why we do not lie, fabricate our work, plagarize others and claim credit. Nor do we attack someone falsely or for no valid reason.

Regrettably, we realize few others received the enculturation we did, or are similarly inclined to act accordingly, and the fact price and others feel we are a valid target for their bogus attempts to deflect the truth RK publishes about them with lies, slander and defamation about RK proves who has the high road and who is lower than a ant in a wheel-rut.

RK knows a clown like price couldn't lick our shoe-laces in any respect and his insistence RK is, to quote price, what he believes even more fantastical.

"Just as an aside, I think his(Cassin's) repeated assertions that he's expert in rugs in general, especially Turkmen rugs, is ridiculous. He presents what he says with an air of authority, and when the subject is one about which I'm ignorant, it can sound like the words of an expert. What I've discovered (as have many others) is that when the subject is one about which I know something, he's off by a mile. I see this as evidence that he doesn't know what he's talking about when he expounds about other things, either. The alternative is that he's only knowledgeable about things of which I'm ignorant, but expert on those. This is an absurd proposition."

There is little doubt price is a loser of an academe who spends a considerable amount of his time "moderating" turkotek.com and other webistes rather than spending it in his 'profession', as well as turko-moron of huge proportions as his ludicrous 'opinion' above, his opinions of rugs or his collection of airport-art examples, absolutely demonstrates.

There is little doubt among the FEW people who are experts in the field of antique oriental rugs price is thought to be a fool, a nobody meddler and super-sized rug ignorant.

There is even less doubt price has a collection of airport-art rugs that, like many others in rugDUMB, is worthless from any standpoint other than laying on the floor to keep fido warm when he naps.

RK looks forward to price's obituary when hopefully the slander, defamation, lies and half-truths this arsehole has published on his website about RK will finally disappear.

But please, all you turk0tekkers, if you do not agree then tell RK and the world something significant professor steve price has done, either in rugDUMB or his pathetic life as professor baby-sitter at Virginia Commonwealth University?

And by the way, several years ago RK did call up both the dean's office and price's department head and when we mentioned price's name all it elicited was laughter.

It appeared to RK both of the people we spoke to thought as little or perhaps even less about price and his career than we do.

'Nuff said

Rug-challenged professor steve price=clown is nothing but a pathetic RK-basher who believes our contributions to rug studies are nil, who believes RK has done nothing in this field, and even more laughable who feels his efforts in the field are equal or superior to ours.

If those opinions are not enough to demonstrate what a disingenuous, stupid, pompous meat-head and sock-puppet professor steve price is to anyone with even a child's grasp of reality we'd be amazed.

Why price continues with his ridiculous attempts to cast dispersion on our research, our collection or our websites is equally absurd.

RK doesn't need to prove our position to anyone, especially a rug-schmuck like airport-art steev or anyone else who believeswhat pathetic losers like price or others write about us.

History has a way of sometimes sorting out truth from nonsense but RK is positive it will vindicate our preeminent position in non-classical rug studies.

We are even positive it will eventually be recognized by rug-clowns and RK bashers like price and others like him.

Airport-art steev is nothing but a fly on the back of an elephant but should price ever get up enough courage to debate historic rugs with us, in person or virtually, we can guarantee we will not only prove that preeminent position but we will destroy the bogus beliefs he treasures about himself.

Our willingness to prove our position would, of course, be better put by our debating someone who has far more stature in rugDUMB than a rug-fool like price and this is why we have made similar offers to dodds, franses, moshe the front-man tababnia, or even the great charlatan and carpet-bagger jon thompson.

Seems these supposed rug-expurts are afraid of RK and what we know not only about historic rugs but also what we know about them and their pitifully over-arched and bogus reputations.

When George Orwell wrote in his classic 1984: Truth is Lies and Lies are Truth, little did he know how prescient he would be for now we are mired in a world turned upside down.

RugDumb could be the poster-girl for this, and how a thief like dodds, who was caught red-handed, escaped any censure, forget punishment; or a pseudo-academe like thompson, whose Imreli debacle should have side-lined him to a career in Siberia -- forget about recommending the now proven reproduction supposed "faces' rug fragment to an important collector or vetting the late genre period reproduction bogus-bellini of dodds as 16th century and directly helping to cause the LACMA bellini fiasco; or any one of the other notable disasters big-name ruggies, like bruce big-mouth baganz and the ongoing slow demise of George Hewitt Meyer's Museum, have perpetrated yet gone unnoticed surely makes someone like professor price=clown's screaming about big-bad RK seem incredibly stupid and fallacious.

And, quite frankly, that's why RK coined the term rugDUMB.

The post below from Jill links to this page on EBAY:

Hey this looks suspiciously like professor price=clowns Chodor chuval.

Wow, it is!

RK is not surprised a bottom-fishing clown like price would shell out $3,200 for a mediocre, late, airport-art Turkmen weaving like this.

Fact is turko-moron steev probably thought he got a great buy-- Ebay and all that clearly thats why he opened his wallet.

However, and RK is willing to wager a lot on this one, were the same chuval to come up at sotheby or rip-off boswell it would sell forLESS.

There is little doubt price is a rug-schmuck and schmucks like him have been getting fooled by the old ploy "buy it in the country and sell it in the city".

RK has witnessed this working out well but more often than not if the piece is not an important one, and trust RK prices Chodor chuval aint important in any regard, it doesnt profit; and thats why we KNOW a mediocre chuval like prices would not bring more than 3,200 in either of those auction rooms. If it would even make that at hammer price we'd be surprised.

Thanks go to Jill for sending us the link.

And since RK knows professor price=clown is a regular reader let us offer our services to counsel him next time he gets the urge to splurge on Ebay well be glad to save him further embarrassment, that is if a clod and meat-puppy like price has any sense of self.

RK's website and discussion forum is anonymous, and while RK believes in posting our name when we write critique of others we do not demand others do the same.

Such is not the case on steev price's turk0tek.com website, where no anonymous posting is allowed. Far worse is the fact price will not allow anyone who is critical of his stupid dumbass opinions to post regardless of the fact they do it in their own name.

Below is a brief statement about anonymity we found on the net this morning in an article about economics, which is highly pertinent to this issue.

Have a read and think about it....

"Though often maligned .... anonymous speech has a long and storied history in the United States.

Used by the likes of Mark Twain (aka Samuel Langhorne Clemens) to criticize common ignorance, and perhaps most famously by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay (aka Publius) to write the federalist papers, we think ourselves in good company in using one or another nom de plume.

Particularly in light of an emerging trend against vocalizing public dissent in the United States, we believe in the critical importance of anonymity and its role in dissident speech.

Like the economist magazine, we also believe that keeping authorship anonymous moves the focus of discussion to the content of speech and away from the speaker- as it should be.

We believe not only that you should be comfortable with anonymous speech in such an environment, but that you should be suspicious of any speech that isn't.

Indeed, anonymous speech is protected by the First Amendment to The United States Constitution, as has also been affirmed by the Supreme Court of the United States (McIntyre v. Ohio Elections Commission 514 U.S. 334 (1995)) and with good reason:
Protections for anonymous speech are vital to democratic discourse.
Allowing dissenters to shield their identities frees them to express critical, minority views . . . Anonymity is a shield from the tyranny of the majority. . . . It thus exemplifies the purpose behind the Bill of Rights, and of the First Amendment in particular: to protect unpopular individuals from retaliation . . . and their ideas from suppression at the hand of an intolerant society.

These are fine words everyone should take to heart, especially someone like professor steev price, turko-idiot and thin-skinned rug imbecile.
