Because of our long-standing interest collecting Soumak bags, we have decided to focus in on them in this Topic Area on RugKazbah.com's discussion board.

detail Soumak bagface
on loan to the Weaving Art Museum CollectionOver the next few months we intend to spend some time discussing them.
We trust some of our readers will see fit to post their ideas/questions/comments about these wonderful weavings, as well as posting some photos of their pieces, or ones they have chosen from the multitude of examples already published in various sources, for commentary here as well.
Posting photos in the Kazbah's non-commercial part (i.e. the "For Discussion" area of the Buy/Sell area), or emailing them directly to webmaster at rugkazbah.com, will allow us to take them and insert them in any relevant discussion threads.
However, we will not initiate any more of this discussion until someone starts this process off. We will then answer with some photos and posts of our own.
RugKazbah.com was set up to be a two way street and, at this point, we expect our readership to begin to contribute -- by doing so it will encourage us to contribute more.
We are glad to share what we know but have already done plenty in that regard and will continue but, perhaps, not at the same frequency we have previously managed.
Should readers want more, faster -- the only way to guarantee this will be for some of you to start contributing and not to continue to expect us to do all the work, as has been the modus operandi.
This needs to change and now is the time to begin that change.
